THROUGHPUT ANALYSIS OF PACKET RESERVATION MULTIPLE ACCESS PROTOCOL FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS - Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 1994. 'Wireless Networks - Catching the Mobile F

چکیده
Recently, a packet reservation multiple access (PRMA) protocol was proposed for wireless communications. It can improve the system capacity by extracting the active terminals while they are in silent state. D. J. Goodman has analyzed the system by using the equilibrium point analysis (EPA). However, this method possibly generates multiple stable equilibrium points in high load condition. The exact behaviour of the system can not be determined uniquely. Thus, we proposed a two-dimensional Markov chain model to approximately analyze the PRMA protocol. After the steady states probabilities are found, the channel throughput can be uniquely determined.

The paper introduces a new protocol for wireless cellular networks by combining a time reservation scheme with a dynamic space reservation scheme. The proposed new protocol, known as the Space and Time Reservation Multiple Access (STRMA) protocol, does not use a fured reuse pattern but allows a dynamic reservation of bandwidth in both time and space. The performance of this protocol found by si...

The Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system developed within the Eureka 147 project is well adapted to the requirements of broadcasting audio, programme associated data and general data including e.g. video, still images and coded traffic messages. The configuration of the DAB multiplex (i.e data rates and error protection of the different applications) is flexibly adjustable. Having evaluated ...

For a specific high-throughput wireless local area network system based on OFDM we study the sum rate of multiple access with time multiplexing or superimposed transmission (TDMA, SUP). In allocating resources we consider a minimum granularity, i. e., size of the smallest unit that a user can be allotted. We further assume packet switched traffic with most traffic carried by only a few large pa...
